Hidup adalah memilih

Memulai kehidupan adalah sebuah pilihan, menjalaninya adalah konsekuensi, sedangkan mengakhirinya adalah kewajiban.

Kehidupan dimulai dengan sebuah pilihan. Walaupun bukan pilihan orang yang akan menjalaninya, tetapi tetap melalui sebuah pilihan. Ketika seorang laki2 memilih untuk meminang seorang wanita, atau ketika ia memilih untuk membuahi seorang wanita. Atau seorang wanita yang memilih menerima tawaran seorang laki2, atau ketika ia menyerahkan tubuhnya kepada seorang pria. Bahkan seorang pemerkosa pun "memilih" korbannya.

Tapi tidak ada seorang manusiapun di dunia ini memilih untuk memulai kehidupannya sendiri. Dimana ia akan dilahirkan, dari siapa ia diberanakan, siapa orang tuanya, apa etnisnya. Hingga ketika ia sadar bahwa ia hidup, ia hanya dapat menjalaninya.

If we could exchange our eyes

I some time think, what if we could exchange our eyes. Your eyes for me, and my eyes for you. Is it possible that we will look the world differently? We will look the color and shape of the world from another person eyes. To learn how their eyes give information about the surrounding to their head.

My professor once told me that eyes also an instrument. It's like a multimeter (device that measures electrical current, resistance and voltage), if i have two different multimeter and use them to measure a single resistor. Than it's by practice, both of the instruments would show different value. Although the is the same Resistor. The two instruments look at the same resistor with different point of view.

An eyes also an instrument, it measures colors and shapes. When light (which an electromagnetic wave) hit an object, the light being reflected by an object toward our eyes. Then the eyes measure the incoming light wave. And just like other instrument, although measure the same object, both give different value.

So it is possible that we see the color of an object differently. Although it the same object. If we exchange our eyes, I will see the color of the world from your perspective, and you will see my point of view. So let’s trade, an eyes for an eyes.
